George B. Kendall
George Kendall is Chairman and CEO of Economic Strategies, Inc., a New York City
advisory firm he founded in 1981.
Prior to founding Economic Strategies, Mr. Kendall was Vice Chairman of Predex
Corporation and President and CEO of GFTA Services Corp., before its merger
with Morgan Stanley. Mr. Kendall has also been in partnership with D. B. Marron & Co. (and its successor, Mitchell Hutchins), a firm that later merged with Paine
Webber.
Mr. Kendall's career began on his home continent of Europe. He came to the
United States to take a position as a junior partner in the Dutch-American
Mercantile Corporation, in the foreign exchange trading area; later, he worked
with George Soros as a senior trader at F. M. Mayer Co.
Mr. Kendall has served on many international organizations in his professional
and social life, including the Blue Ribbon Commission on Hungary (in collaboration
with the Hudson Institute) and as a board member of the Global Economic Action
Institute. Mr. Kendall has made numerous presentations to professional audiences
in the U.S. and Europe.
Mr. Kendall was educated in Hungary, Italy (Bocconi University, Milan) and
France (Sorbonne, Universite de Paris). He speaks English, French, German,
Hungarian, and Italian.
Bernhard Fritz-Krockow
Bernhard Fritz-Krockow joined Economic Strategies, Inc. as Chief Operating Officer at the end of 2007.
Dr. Fritz-Krockow, born in Mexico City, studied economics in Germany, France, Mexico, and Japan, and taught economics at the University of Munster (Germany), where he also obtained his doctoral degree. He has lectured extensively in economics, and has numerous publications and awards.
Dr. Fritz-Krockow has substantial expertise in how policy developments impact markets and economies. He
worked for about 20 years at the International Monetary Fund on issues related to financial markets and
macroeconomic crises. During his tenure, he worked on numerous IMF teams dealing with economic crises and
providing policy advice in countries in the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
Dr. Fritz-Krockow has been directly involved in the markets. He worked as Director of the Country Risk Analysis
Department of the Export-Import Bank of Japan during 1996-99, where he guided the sovereign risk of a US$150
billion portfolio and was instrumental in leading the bank’s foreign portfolio through the Mexican, Asian, and Russian crises of the 1990s.
Dr. Fritz-Krockow speaks English, German, Spanish, French and some Japanese and Dutch. He and his wife
Hiroko currently live in Fairfax, Virginia. |

Mark L. Serlin
Mark Serlin is the Chief Economist at Economic Strategies Inc. Prior to joining
Economic Strategies, Mr. Serlin authored the widely distributed SERLINON
economic indicator analysis service for Bridge Information Services.
Mr. Serlin has also worked in the research departments of Bear Stearns,
Ried Thunberg, and Manufacturers Hanover.
In his work for Economic Strategies, Mr. Serlin collaborates with a number
of economists to produce the detailed analysis of U.S. economic indicators
and our economic forecasts. He is also responsible for the weekly previews
and reviews that are available to our clients.
