Overview

Economic Strategies, Inc. provides a highly focused advisory service to international financial institutions based in North America, Europe, Asia and major emerging markets, analyzing global economic developments and their likely effect on major financial markets.  We focus on a 3 to 6 month horizon.  Our service is aimed at finding significant market opportunities that investors can use.

We provide a framework for interpreting differences between market expectations and economic reality. We concentrate on factors that are not yet included or inaccurately reflected in the expectations of market participants and that will lead to changes in expectations and move the market. We use various information sources, from proprietary quantitative models to continued conversations with financial market participants, government and central bank officials, and experts at public research institutes and private firms. We also assess the probable reaction of government and central bank authorities to the data.

The longstanding relationship with our clients is the best testimony of the quality and consistency of our work. Clients have been with us for more than a decade on average, using our services to improve their in-house research, discern market advantages early on, or adapt market strategies to the projected changes in the economic environment.

History

Economic Strategies, Inc. was founded by George B. Kendall in 1981. Since its inception, the firm concentrated on providing economic analysis that could be translated into marketable decisions by our clients. The market-oriented of economic analysis was a natural result of the currency-trading and Wall Street experiences of the firm's founder and the realization that financial markets often lose focus on the underlying economic reality.  Our product has evolved over the past quarter century (from telex to email and the web) in large part as a result of our close contact with our client base, including regular face to face meetings in their offices.
